A stolen soul remains inside the cage until the spell ends or until you destroy the cage, which ends the spell. While you have a soul inside the cage, you can exploit it in any of the ways described below. You can use a trapped soul up to 6 times. Once you exploit a soul for the 6th time, it is released, and the spell ends. While a soul is trapped, the target it came from can\u2019t be revived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Borrow Experience<\/strong> &#8211; You can use a bonus action to bolster yourself with the soul\u2019s life experience. You gain a +2 to attack rolls and save throws for 5 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Query Soul<\/strong> &#8211; You ask the soul a question (no action required) and receive a brief telepathic answer, which you can understand regardless of the language used. The soul can only answer questions of experiences prior to the target becoming soulless, but it must answer you truthfully and to the best of its ability. Upon a successful save, the soul is lost to the ether, returning to the victim after 3 hours. A stolen soul remains inside the cage until the end of a season (in which case it returns to the victim upon the start of a new season), and the soul is consumed by a Lich\u2019s phylactery (in which case the soul is lost forever) or until the Soul Gem is destroyed, which ends the spell and returns the soul to its owner. While you have a soul inside the cage, you can exploit it in any of the ways described below. You can use a trapped soul up to 3 times. Once you exploit a soul for the third time, it is released, and the spell ends. The soul knows only what it knew in life, but it must answer you truthfully and to the best of its ability. The answer is no more than 25 words and might be cryptic.
