Created by the Demogorgon as servant-warriors, their difficulty in receiving commands would lead to the demon prince granting them freedom, setting them loose upon the outer planes. They live by a ‘might-makes-right’ mentality, being a cunning and competent military force. The Khaasta often dwell in groups of their own kind that function not unlike groups of interplanar raiders, invading any gateways they can find between the planes to plunder riches for themselves and to gain prestige in their power-based hierarchies. Their scaly hides are vibrantly colored, possessing complex patterns, whilst their heads harbor large frills that frame their skulls, a defining feature of the Khaasta that distinguishes them from other lizardfolk.
